Only a handful of soldiers were required to 6 meter wide and 15 meter long Quonset huts. Quonset huts were used by allies to protect their assets and soldiers from sunlight, rain and snow. At the beginning, Quonset huts were neither good looking nor strong. They only served the purpose of being a structure and only in the sixties the construction companies realized that they needed to be stronger and look better too to be a success. This became possible only three decades back when companies invented construction grade steel that was stronger.
