Boot performance monitoring A review
Defragmented file data is concentrated in one place and, thus, easier to open. Boot optimization as defragmentation brings scattered data together into the gaps (left by the deleted files and programs) that are closest to its related data. These individual sections of data are joined together and rewritten into one complete file, and the process is repeated over and over until defragmentation is complete. Boot optimization works best when there is enough empty space on a disk for data movement. Data packed disks with little room to spare present a challenge to the boot optimization program, as a computer must work extremely hard to find enough space to shift files.
